Employment, Wages and Salaries
Wages and salaries jump by 3.1%, highest level in a decade, time to start giving credit where credit is due.
We all want the economy to do good and create jobs and opportunity. Most of us want to work at a job that pays us a good wage and has some opportunity to advance. If we are honest with ourselves we will acknowledge that in the last two years we have seen a big sweep in job opportunities and pay increases. Some better than others but still a increase.
Government does not create jobs. It creates the conditions that either hinder, or facilitate the creation of jobs. Even Government jobs that happen when the government expands is not creating jobs. That’s because those jobs are paid for by taxpayers. As long as we are using taxpayer money to feed the government we are not creating jobs. We are just taking more money out of taxpayers pockets to feed a bigger government. Yes a lot of those positions are necessary but a lot of them are not. Especially if they pay more than the private sector jobs do.
More money staying in the taxpayers pockets, and in the business’s that pay taxes, are what is fueling the economy. Not the government taxing corporations and business’s and driving them out of the country. Yes its cheaper for business’s to operate in other countries but if the trade is not equal then is it fair to the american people? Business’s will take advantage of any opportunity they see to make a buck. Its just the way it works in a free economy. The government is needed, and is suppose to look out for Americans first, before other countries. In that way America will not be taken advantage of and the American people will continue to benefit. We as Americans, have taken care of those countries that have helped us. We even helped to rebuild countries that we went to war against. America is the most giving country on the face of the earth, but its not because we have to be. In my opinion its because we are made up of people from all over the world. We have roots from every country on the face of the planet. But it seems given the chance those countries will take advantage of our generosity.
To keep the economy chugging along and growing we have to be willing to do what is necessary to keep business growing. Keep companies hiring and paying a good wage. People need to look at the ever changing labor environment and if necessary change their labor skills to keep up with the job demands.
